REQUIRED:  Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing; eligibility for or current licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Previous professional experience in mental health, medical, adult and geropsychiatric setting. Good clinical knowledge and skills, and the ability to assess and develop patient care plans. Ability to coordinate, delegate, communicate and problem solve. Progressive experience in supervising and evaluating both patient care and staff performance. Experience in teaching and training patients and staff. Knowledgeable in the provision of nursing care to all diverse adult psychiatric patient groups. Must be able to complete and maintain current in CPR and TOVA training. REQUIRED:  Graduate from an accredited college or university with major studies in Recreation Therapy accompanied by experience that would meet the requirement for certification. Certification with the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation (CTRS). Ability to plan and implement goal-oriented activities to meet the needs of adult/geriatric psychiatric patients. Attend and actively participate in scheduled patient related conferences. Ability to communicate patient progress orally and in writing. Ability to integrate knowledge, skills, abilities and RT principles to practice. Knowledge of age-specific assessments and evaluations. Must complete mandatory training (i.e., TOVA and CPR) therapeutic communications, and NGRI – specific training at ESH upon employment and maintain the competencies.
