DESCRIPTION:  This position serves as the lead physician for primary care services, provides supervision of medical consultation services, oversees the provision of primary medical care in the facility to include the Health Services Clinic for treatment of patients and employee injuries and referrals, as well as the Admitting Physician for the Admission Suite and the Operational Medical Director of Ambulance services for the facility.  Collaborates with the Hospital Medical Director and program staff regarding clinical and administrative program needs.  Ensures medical record compliance with regard to state, federal regulations, TJC and CMS standards and other accrediting bodies or agencies.  Ensures medical record documentation compliance rate of 100% for monthly reviews and appropriate completion of documentation to support reimbursement activities for medical coding and billing practices.  Serves as an on-call physician when scheduled and as needed.

REQUIREDLicensed to practice by the Virginia Board of Medicine and DEA Registration.  Graduation from an approved/accredited medical school with a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy degree and completion of an approved Internal Medicine residency training program.  Comprehensive knowledge of contemporary development and techniques in the diagnosis and treatment of medical diseases and disorders.
